Methodology

Updated 24 September 2026
Alphie compares evidence (a CV, interview answers) against the requirements of one specific role and explains every score in plain language. Scores are recommendations. People make every hiring decision.

Candidate ranking (Suggested Candidates)
- Input: the role's requirements and the CVs already in your ATS.
- Each candidate is compared against must-have and nice-to-have requirements, not keyword counts.
- Output: top five fits, each with reasons and gaps.
Screening interviews (Interview with Alphie)
- Questions are generated for the role and approved by your team, then asked exactly as written, in order.
- Each answer is scored against what the question was meant to test, with quoted evidence.
- The transcript and recording are attached so any score can be checked.
Job fit for candidates (Rate My Fit)
- Input: your CV and one job description.
- Output: a fit score, strengths, gaps and CV suggestions.
- CV tailoring never invents experience; it rewords and reorders what is already true.
What is not used
- No photos, age, gender, nationality or other protected characteristics are scored.
- No automatic rejections: every rejection is a human decision.
Known limits
- Scores reflect the documents and answers given. A thin CV scores lower than the person may deserve.
- Estimates of interview strength are indicative, not predictions of an employer's decision.
- No independent audit has been published yet.
Frequently asked questions
Does Alphie reject candidates automatically?
No. Alphie recommends. A person decides and Alphie sends the email afterwards.
Can we see why a candidate was ranked highly?
Yes. Every suggestion and score comes with written reasoning and, for interviews, a transcript and recording.
