Comparison
Alphie Recruiter vs HireVue
Updated 26 August 2026
Short answer: HireVue is a video interviewing and assessment platform — candidates record answers or take tests, and recruiters review them. Alphie runs a live 15-minute AI voice interview conducted like a recruiter would, then produces a scored report, and also handles rediscovery, ranking, scheduling and candidate replies inside your existing ATS.

| Output | Scored, question-by-question report with reasoning and a recording | Recorded answers, assessment scores |

| Where it lives | Inside your existing ATS (Greenhouse, Ashby, BambooHR…) | Separate platform with ATS integrations |
| Candidate experience | Conversation; candidate also gets a report on their own performance | Recording answers to prompts |
| Candidate-side tools | Fit reports, CV tailoring, prep briefs, mock interviews | None |

When HireVue is the better fit
Large enterprises running standardised, validated assessments across thousands of candidates — especially where the assessment science and compliance tooling are the point — get more out of HireVue's assessment library than out of a conversational screen.
When Alphie is the better fit
Teams that want a first round that actually feels like an interview, not a webcam form. Alphie speaks with the candidate, probes the answers, and returns a report the hiring manager can read in two minutes. It then schedules the next round and drafts the reply — so the whole stage closes without recruiter admin.
Transparency and control
Alphie never auto-rejects. Scores come with visible reasoning tied to what the candidate actually said, and the approval or rejection email is drafted for a human to send. That is a deliberate difference from platforms where AI-assisted filtering happens before a person sees the candidate.
Try a screening interview yourself
Run Alphie's mock interview as a candidate and read the report it produces.
